About Us
Collective Movement was formed in 2018 after several years of cooperation between its members, Dana Albertson, Blair Bodie, Melissa Dawn, Jackie Englehart, Suzann Kienast-Brown, and Cathy Werner. In 2015, Melissa, Jackie, and Suzann began a modern dance class for adults in the Bozeman community. Two years later, Blair and Dana joined the roster of rotating instructors. The six members have choreographed and danced together for numerous diverse performances during the last five years. This shared labor has deepened their respect and appreciation of each individual artist's vision and their commitment to helping each other find ways to share their work. By coming together as a collective, we create a platform for professional modern dance in Bozeman.
Mission
Collective Movement's mission is to cultivate modern and postmodern dance through classes, workshops, and performances.
Vision
Collective Movement exists to deepen the understanding of modern and postmodern dance in MT. Our strength lies in the empowerment of each members’ unique artistic vision. Our goal is to challenge ourselves, our students, and our audiences to embrace diverse ways of thinking and moving to deepen self- awareness and promote social change.
